Accordion

Post by Skeely » 24 Oct 2006, 15:53

Although I generally subscribe to the opinion that the accordion is an instrument best played with a sharp knife, I'm enjoying the sounds of the squeezebox floating up from the High St.

Incubus- A certain shade of green , and the faint strains of WWE wrestling on in the other room. Getting headphones on for a selection from Korn then it'll be into Travis. How did I manage without an mp3 player?

Nice selection, can I borrow your MP3 player? (although you can miss out the WWE bit!)

I nicked the Korn and Incubus from Clanger no 1. After her playing this kind of stuff for years I got used to it and like it, unlike mr soupy who thinks it and I quote " sounds like a coo farting over a dyke"

I'm listening too IV and enjoying what I'm hearing, though I can't make sense of the playlist that you've got up for Atop.
It doesn't seem to match up to what's being played e.g. A Tribe Called Quest, Primal Scream etc. Is this Atop's set ?

Well it's not the rubbish they play on CiN on the Beeb. Just turned over and got a few bars of Emma Bunton in the act of murdering "Downtown".
Pet Clark must be spinning in her grave.

Gimme a break!

Cleo, I'm with you on this. 'Downtown' is one of my favourite songs and Emma's version adds absolutely NOTHING to the original.

Look ... I have a real prob with being called Cleo for short. My family call me Clee ... so can people here if it's really necessary. But I prefer my full name.

QI just finished. So much better than C i N.

I had iTunes on random whilst I was writing the latest rambling piece.

Would you believe it's just turned up James Taylor singing Fire and Rain
I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.

I'm sorry I haven't a clue in the Swannee whistle round! I sniggered at it even more thinking of what you'd make of it.

You should be able to listen to it on your PC via the Listen Again thingy http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/sunday/ tomorrow.

Isn't just so ridiculous!?! An absolute cracker.

I thought one had to wait 24 hrs! Anyway, your post made me (a)investigate how you'd listened tonight and so now I can catch up more easily if I miss anything and (b) it forced me to fix my speakers (i.e. put the speaker plug back into the back of the PC  ).

Hope you did not get too chilly out there, SoupD!!

Just a minute on BBC 7 listen again, thanks to Poppy for pointing out the listen again link. I followed it yesterday to listen to the Clangers and am going to explore this more, Round the horne beckons next but will give Westway a miss

I was nice and cosy in the car last night, it was only when i got home and couldn't find a parking space that I had to venture into the wind and rain. I arranged to meet the Clangers ( and pal ) in the Asda car park much easier than trying to get near the Corn Exchange itself. A special thank you to Clanger no1 for going as chaperone and saving me having to stand through Bullet for my valentine concert

Quite right, SoupD! Why the heck that rubbish was made for and broadcast on the World service I'll never know - was it to put people off coming here to use the NHS!!??

I don't know why Westway irritated me as much as it did but it got to the stage of wishing for a hammer when the first few bars of the theme came on. It was usually on in the middle of the night too. I'd put the world service on if I couldn't sleep hoping to doze off but would be really awake when it came on, luckily we dont keep a mallet near the bed!
