Let's get 'rocked' :roll: - Def Leppard, in the background on 'The Hits'. One of my friends used to say he would never love any band more than he loved 'Def Leppard'.....luckily enough he got over it, but it's still fun to remind him of it :twisted:

My son is currently citing certain Iron Maiden and Motorhead tracks as the best music he has ever heard in his life (nearly eight years of it). I hope he gets over that as soon as possible. :lol:
I can't seem to presuade him to my way of musical thinking.

It's worrying to think what he might be into in the years ahead. :?

Umexplicable????WTF

The song is about his Mum walking with him to the Crucifiction (what does that stand for, killing of lies?) and their conversation. That angle never occurred to me, a mother walking her son to his death, even as I'm typing this I feel a welling.

Currently listening to Hours - the new Funeral for a Friend album. Has a picture of a girl in a bullet proof vest on the front if you want to have a look for it. Can highly recommend it to any metal/rock fans out there.

In my present state of extreme boredom and sobriety I've been downstairs and had a trawl through the CD cupboard. My playlist for tonight will include:

Playing at present: the gorgeous Jon Bon Jovi (whom I named my son and heir after - the Jon bit obviously) - Always (loud)
Probably followed by: The Scissor Sisters
Then: Joe Jackson;
Pulp (actually, might put that on next since Jarvis is almost on a par with Jon - not physically obviously, but in a deeper sense);
Stereophonics;
Crowded House;
INXS;
Texas;
Tears for Fears

By then it'll be morning :roll:
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

No taste - on either count. However, I'll forgive you since you're the only person I know (apart from Gavin who I worked with in 1981) who likes XTC :wink:

Add me to the XTC fan list and the Buzzcocks too. I'll pass on the Pernod though.

Fine - more for me. I've moved onto The Clash now. First album, before they thought they were rock stars.

I've reached Crowded House now. This is a good wee room for acoustics, must be the slopey ceiling.

Marya wrote: Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus
An Arena documentary following 'alt country' singer Jim White on a road trip into the heart of the poor white American South through a gritty terrain of churches, prisons, truck stops and coal mines.
A bit late I know, but this is being repeated on BBC4 at 1.30am tonight as part of the "Arena at 30" night currently on that channel.
Just in case Marya and Homer (and anyone else) fancy sitting up late or setting the videos.

Listening to Casino Versus Japan for about the hundredth time :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/experimental ... bers.shtml

Stunning stuff, and a possibility for the ambient soundtrack I will be providing for the imaginary movie of dccairn's mayoral election.

I am taking my role as her ambience co-ordinator very seriously, I may even have to learn a bit of sitar.
