elections

Flying transatlantic the other day I experienced the massive cheers mid-route for Obama's win...

So, what difference for the world?

And what difference for tonight's damp squib at Glenrothes?

A good comfortable win for Labour. Lindsay Roy was elected the new MP with a majority of 6,737 despite Labour being written of and a win for the SNP being predicted. A wee boost for the Labour Party.

Not as exciting as the Presidential election right enough.

Anyone know the result of yesterday's ballot for the council seat previously held by the late Elizabeth McGinnis?

Sincerely hope Obama can live up to the huge expectations placed on him. Heard on the radio of a newspaper carrying an amusing cartoon, which depicted a White House gardener erecting a sign reading 'Do not walk on the water'.

Angie Brown the reporter who covers the 'Edinburgh, East & Fife' area of Scotland for the BBC News website should be commended on her greate coverage of local affairs here in Edinburgh.

Its Saturday today and still no mention of the by election held the other day which was won by Labours Cammy Day.

Id have thought it would have warranted a brief story on the BBC news website.
