I ask this question only because dont know the answer.
Rapunzell and I were at the pyramids, and watched a "drunken teenager " taking a dip in the Forth the other night.
He said when we weren't as old we would have tried it.
I was thinikng about the cold, Rapunzell about the "old"
Ned Barney, who swam the English Channel, was regularly seen taking a dip in the Forth ( early 80s, source of info , ME, I saw him )
BUT
does anybody know of anyone who has swam across the Forth?
Has anyone swam across the Forth?

Oh, forgot about all the doors going past.
Was it for a bonfire?
Does anyone know?
There was also a gathering to the west that night
Dont worry think it was my grey hairs the shivering one was referring to
its because they're longer than average there seems to be more of them
Now, where did I leave the Clairol ( now that all L'Oreal gets you is a tart
)( Porty started it)
PS if offered I'll take the tart over grey hair

The first person to swim the Forth was, in fact, Ned Barney in September 1924. ( I think it was 8 Sept. but I haven't been able to confirm that.)
He plunged in at Burntisland, on the North side, struggled for 4 hours and 10 minutes with swirling tide rips and deadly cold patches, before he stumbled ashore at Granton, on the South side.
A direct line from Burtisland to Granton is only six miles; Barney covered ten, owing to the currents.

I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.
