Only beginning? Poor Mr P - we've been wondering this for about 30 years

My last 3 reads:

Star of the Sea by Joseph O'Connor
The Crimson Petal and the White by Michael Faber
Eleanor Rigby by Douglas Coupland

There is a book club based at Portobello Library if anyone is interested. Think it meets once a month but I'm sure Lindsay the Book could give us more details.

That's the two books that are in our house at the moment! I am reading the Da Vinci Code and my wife is reading Curious Incident.
P.S. My daughter is reading a Famous Five Adventure but I guess the book club is not ready for that yet :study:

Anyone hear Sarah Montague's absolutely awful Today interview with Hollinghurst after he won? She was apalling - kept wittering on about why he'd chosen to write a "gay novel".
I'd like to read it but doubt I have the time. Just read Running With Scissors though, which was brilliant.
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

Well, the people's choice appears to be The Da Vinci Code.

With The Curious Case of the Dog In The Nighttime and The Man In The High Castle coming in closely behind, giving us possibilities for December and January!

I will start a new thread for the November read.
I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.
