Re: Creative Porty
The library's exhibition space is free at the moment for the first two weeks in March. I think this would be a great time to showcase what we do and see if we can arouse some interest in the wider community. Let us know your thoughts. If you're interested please PM me or contact Nicola on the Creative Porty Page on Facebook.

Re: Creative Porty
The Creative Porty Group are pushing forward with a project we've named the Portobello Big Beach Bunting Project. Our first target is 100m of bunting ready in time to put up at the Big Beach Busk in August. We hope as many residents, ex residents and visitors as possible will join in by making one flag each. The only stipulation we have is that you MUST, at some time in your life, have walked along Portobello Promenade! We have a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Portobel ... 983?ref=ts so please like us and join in with what we hope will be a great project. Further details as and when we make them up!

Not sure if I can actually take credit for it, but it's something I'm certainly keen on. As you too appeared to be during a previous discussion. Have you changed your mind?Epykat wrote:seanie wrote:Beach Huts on the Prom?Epykat wrote:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Creative ... 2449850577

I don't have a desire to see them stretched end to end along the beach.
The thought was perhaps 10 little beach hut retail units somewhere on prom or in dog-poo part of Straiton park that local traders could rent as well as others to get in on the footfall that goes along the prom but goes nowhere near the shops.
Thought it might help give it a beach resort feel.
Genuinely interested to hear others views on this.

Re: Creative Porty
Not at all! You've got the wrong end of the stick - Sean was having a go.......as he does. I'm totally in favour of the beach hut idea. I think it would be briliant addition but I know from the Creative Porty Facebook page that not everyone does. It's a big promenade, I'm sure we could fit them in (and cover them with bunting!)

Re: Creative Porty
Bunting great! It's me that was posting displeasure at the beach hut idea! My thoughts are on said Facebook page but there does seem to be quite a lot of support for the idea. I keen to hear views! Positive porty.

Re: Creative Porty
Oops sorry Epykat - perhaps ive misunderstood both your and Seans comments. I'd read Sean's comments as poking fun at some others in our community who are in a lather about building on open space.....maybe I've misunderstood.
Sean was your comment serious?
It seemed from the comments received there were a few not keen and I'm keen to listen and understand what heir concerns are.

I'm probably being a silly bunt but can't get my head round the instructions to make the right size triangle for the bunting
Can someone post a pic of the folded A4 so I have an idea what i'm aiming for

Mmmmmm.. now that the Ormelie has been mentioned I'm suddenly feeling a little more creative!
Justice delayed is justice denied.
Re: Creative Porty
These are the huts they're considering expanding in Kirkcudbright, currently 3 beside the harbour...I'm hoping they put more in.I'd like to see something like this on the prom.

Re: Creative Porty
I would too. I think they'd bring some much needed colour and something 'seasidy'
What do they use them for in Kirkcudbright?
