Malvarosa - Spanish Tapas, in Portobello
Re: Malvarosa - Spanish Tapas, in Portobello
How big's Malvarosa? I mean, how many folk can it fit in?
Re: Malvarosa - Spanish Tapas, in Portobello
We went for lunch today and it was excellent. We had tortilla, chorizo in cider, calmari, jambon/manchego, mushrooms with serrano ham and garlic, pork stew. Stuffed. Doors were flung open as such a gorgeous day - what they need is tables on the pavement (tho they'd need to move the large refuse bin!)
Who wants to go for a POL get-together soon?

I've seen them put tables together to seat 16, though I don't know if they'd repeat the experience!Bazza wrote:How big's Malvarosa? I mean, how many folk can it fit in?

A get-together is long overdue. How about dinner on Friday 8 April?

We made our first long-overdue visit recently. Everything was very good and I would be happy to return to try the paella next time.

Porty, por favor
Portobello is slowly but surely turning into the capital’s hippest place to live.
It’s not posh like the New Town or Morningside, and it’s cheaper to buy property there than more central Stockbridge. But with its seaside promenade, its stock of handsome Georgian and Victorian houses, and its engaged local community (which regularly fights off big box retail developments, so allowing its independent shops and cafes to thrive), EH15 is shooting up the league of desirable postcodes.

Think Malvarosa is great. We love it.
A friend who lives in Italy is moving back to Edinburgh and looking to open an Italian Bistro in Porty. I thought this would go down well especially if it is reasonably priced and authentic (her hubby is Italian and she has lived in Italy for 20 odd years). I think Porty needs more eating places.
admin: some posts split to Takeaways, restaurants & Community Council representations.
