we're going to the scotsman hotel for dinner, disco and karoke. Just as well I've taken Friday off

I ca remember a lab do way back in the early eighties.

A few of us trooped off while the party was in full swing to find a tv. I remember standing drink in hand, party hat askew watching the last episode of Blakes Seven

I tried to watch that episode in the Diggers....

And I missed the last episode of Edge of Darkness while getting inebriated at the office do in the disco place at the Playhouse.

Did you used to go there with some of the rugby crowd ? I used to go to some of the dances at the Royal High and one of my friends went out with(now married to) one of the guys and they were always in Diggers. I only went once or twice.

Who here has tried stornoway black pudding?

I had it in Cafe Gandolfi in Glasgow and thought it was very tasty. However, my brother in law, who judges butchers competitions, says it is not even close to the best available. Whats your view?

Best without a doubt is Grants of Dornoch - is famous, and it just so happens I am going there in 2 weeks. Would you like me to bring you back a roll?

I brought back a whole black pudding from Stornoway in the summer, it freezes well. You can buy it in Dobbies foodhall which is a bit handier.
Funnily enough the best black pudding I have ever tasted came from Dornoch (didn't know the maker but no doubt it will be Grants), my brother used to get it from someone who worked up there at the time. I used to think it had a sort of haggisy taste (something else I'm partial to)
You will have to try it Porty and compare it to the Stornoway...............delicious

This is the best black pudding in the world! BC got some delivered straight from Stornoway but you can buy it at Valvona & Crolla also.

Well seen as how you went all the way to get it I ought to come and get it. Failing that you could always slip Epykat a length and ahe could deliver it to the shop.

This thread in many ways epotomises the POL forum. It starts off as a story about christmas nights out and ends with a rather attractive lady appearing in our office to drop of a blood filled pudding that has travelled 200 miles to get here. How very neat.
