Can't think of one- unless you start a "Porty's barred from this thread"- could be a form of virtual torture.

And a little collaboration between http://www.leekindness.com and http://www.elleandpea.etsy.com which have flown off the shelves in Cove. Pieces of pottery, glass and shell picked up from Portobello beach, adorned with Lee's lovely local photographs and made into little wall plaques.

I have been listening to Mary Portas on the radio and how she thinks local high streets can be regenerated.

I think that we should stop all parking on both sides of Porty High Street between Marlborough Street and Bath Street from 6.ooam to 6.oopm. We could then convert Brighton Park into a car park as it is easily accessible from the High Street and large enough to take all the shoppers. Simples 8)

We do need a car park at the Joppa end though, so the Daisy Park might be better

Nah - the Daisy Park is too far a walk (and I live in Joppa!). 8)

It's an unconfirmed rumour but thought likely that VH will continue to operate in the Meadows where they have a very successful business and open another deli in Portobello.

Love VH - our friday night indulgence after a game of tennis and a play at the Meadows. They are v accommodating when you are a sizeable group with a fair number of kids.

Old pet shop will be two charity shops I understand - Salvation Army + another.

Pass on Barelio / Figgate Whins.

Barelio is to be a new bar I believe. Plans on CEC portal (here https://citydev-portal.edinburgh.gov.uk ... BKREW7N000).

Good luck to whoever is opening it.

Those 2 shops frontages are great and are the kind of look/feel I'd like to be seen replicated throughout Porty.
