Invisible Dot Club

Post by Bob Jefferson » 24 Aug 2010, 09:58

Portobello Town Hall was the secret venue for the Fringe show, 'The Invisible Dot Club - By The Sea' on Friday night. Hundreds of fringe-goers descended upon Porty to be entertained by Kevin Eldon, Colin Hoult, Josie Long, Tim Key, Stewart Lee and Daniel Kitson.

And no, I didn't know about it either.

After parking the car in Rosefield Ave, we were gobsmacked to see some young men peeing at the corner, then as we walked on the high street it looked like a gents toilet, with males peeing in doorways and against walls from the corner to the Town hall!!! DISGUSTING! This was during the interval of the show. Then it happened all over again at the end of the show! After speaking with the Hall keeper he said they had left a disgusting mess of beer bottles, cans etc all of which they had brought in with them as there was no bar!! He also made the comment of 'this why we are not normally a venue for fringe shows!'

Oh did I forget to mention that one unlucky chappie went home on the bus rather wet something to do with a small bucket and some water leaving from my window! Ooops!

Glad you find it funny that porty high street is a toilet! I prefer my surroundings a little cleaner than that!

Street urination aside that's an amazing comedy line up.

If there's an interest in bringing fringe shows down to Porty maybe a venue with a bar, and better toilets would help. Actually, I don't know what the toilets are like. Are they badly signposted? Too small?

The toilets in the town hall are adequate,it appears that some people would prefer to urinate on other peoples property instead of the toilets provided.
