Yeah, who needs to be jetting off to sunnier climes, when we have sunshine on Porty? 8) Who am I kidding?

Waverley Station was really really busy earlier when I dropped Clanger 1 off this am.
Luckily she'd booked seats well in advance and had collected the tickets yesterday.

Pity the poor folk stranded at airports

 Thanks Porty. It's not looking so good at the moment. Cross your fingers for me that tomorrow night I'll be dining on tapas in Barna and not a chip supper in Newcastle.

My sympathies Marya - what rotten luck! Get yourselves down the Bigg Market tonight and drown your sorrows. There must be somewhere in Newcastle that serves tapas, surely?

We're still at home Bob. Decided to wait to hear the next update before heading to Newcastle. Sounds likely that there will be disruption for the next 48 hrs over Europe so perhaps we're best trying to get back as much of our money as we can now.

Good luck Marya! So far some pals have had hotels very kindly waive the normal 48 hour cancellation fee under the circumstances, allowing full refunds - I hope you can get the same!

I'm off to dig out the piece of chorizo sausage that is lurking at the back of the fridge, then we're going to put on our sunglasses and drink copious amounts of Rioja, while Matthew strums 'Una Paloma Blanca' on his guitar.
