The new junction seems OK on a bike - certainly nicer than the old roundabout anyway.
However, they've taked away the Fishwives Causeway crossing over the Harry Lauder Road! Does anyone know if this is a permanent thing??

The crossing isn't being removed Bazza, just upgraded.

Newspeak for them replacing the traffic island which was there previously, before they removed it (for absolutely no reason) during the roadworks.

Oh Ye of little faith. Of course the wonderful Ocuncil would have a valid reason for doing this. Like job creation or creative accounting or something along those lines.

Came past on bus about 3.45pm - lights all off

Police directing traffic, long tail backs up Portobello Road. What a success - that's been a whole fortnight

Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Huh! When you see the wonderful new shiny, gold plated, replacement island you'll take all that back.....

I'll be happy if they put up proper speed limit signs
It seems Seafield Road is 30 mph one way and 40 mph the other, unless you come down Harry Lauder Road

Several of these photos would make brilliant fodder for a "supply the caption" contest. I think number three is my personal favourite - what is that gent thinking!

Does it not have a slightly "Father Ted/Speed/Dougal-on-a-milk-float " quality to it?

I think that wee tractor was trying to show off to its pals.
"Huh you only caused a small tailback on the bypass, look at the chaos I can make !"

I think they should take that money out of the Pensions of the old folk who jumped out of the way. If the tractor had hit them it would have been much cheaper for the two funerals.

You are sick!
This incident has altered my views on tractors the hot air generated on talkporty and the evening news has made me an ex-tractor fan.

So it turns out that the work on HLR has not actually been completed.
I wonder how long this will take and how many new pot holes will be created?

I went through it yesterday.
The cones seem to be confusing a few drivers who seem unsure what lane they should be in.
