Meet Baxter

Here is Baxter, my new baby, one of the reasons I haven't been posting much recently.
He's a little sweetie but doesn't leave me much time for other activities at the moment.
He'll be getting out in another couple of weeks so hope to meet some of you then.

Does he have four eyes, or is there something wrong with mine?

He's sweet TG
we'll look out for you both.

Bob missed an eye test?
Actually see what you mean, the darker fur near his nose, it's like those butterflies that have false eyes on their wings

OK, that's a relief. I thought he had been genetically spliced with one of your teddybears, like Brundlefly.

Sorry, I'm obviously not very good with these doggy threads.

He just looks so like Bramble when she was that age

I want him.

Could I maybe just borrow him for a wee while and see if Mr E notices?

3 times in 11 years - not really regular in my opinion. 8)

If I wasn't saving up for a Portuguese Water Dog, I would want a dog like Baxter. He looks very nice indeed.

Googled to see if NH was talking mince as usual, but no....."Originating back to the 1500s in Portugal, Portuguese Water Dogs were originally used by fishermen. They were used to send messages between boats, herd fish into the nets  , to retrieve fish and articles from the water, and to guard the fishing boats. They also helped to bring in nets and to save fishermen when they fell in the water. They were very popular, and this might be where they picked up their loyal and dependable characteristics."

There are quite cute! For dogs.

What read all that whining and whingeing all over again? No thanks. Dogs poo, run around a bit and sometimes jump. Well, who knew?

Baxter will be the best behaved dog though. Won't you, Baxter?

Yes, NH not lying: "Their paws are slightly webbed for swimming, which one can notice by trying to pass one's finger between the dog's toes. "

Oh yes I saw a programme on TV this week about a Newfoundland that has been trained as a lifeguard in Cornwall.
It had webbed feet and definitely more personality than David Hasselhof
