Assault in Marlborough St

Post by SoupDragon » 27 Mar 2007, 21:02

Did anyone hear or see anything about 8.30 Monday night?
If so can you contact the police
13 year old assaulted by 3 youths in hoodies who made off on pushbikes.

Just wondered if anybody had noticed anything.
The 13 yr old was on his way to a pals house in marlborough St when he was surrounded by 3 youths, punched and knocked to the ground.
The 13 yr old who was bleeding made his way to Kost Koncious where he was looked after til his mum arrived.
They went to the police station to make a report, noticing the assailents were hanging around the corner of High St /Brighton place.
Although treated kindly in the station there were no police officers available to "nab" the bad guys.

Victim attended A+E ( 4 hour wait ) luckily no fracture but mild concussion and bruising to face

Just yards from the cop shop but are the toerags bothered? No. Just goes to show they know that they are "untouchable".

The mother( and elder sister) of the 13 year old used up every ounce of self restraint not to "go get them" trusting to the authotities.
If they'd known how understaffed the poice were a large volvo may have inadvertantly strayed off the road ( at least twice. ) But logic overcame emotion

Oh dear, it shouldn't be worse when you know (even if only through cyber acquaintance!) someone involved in such a thing ...but it is.

Was trying to be unemotional but yes I'm the mum and its Clanger 4.
I'd like to say a big THANKS to

Kost Koncious for taking in a dirty bleeding boy and phoning me :salute:
The poor understaffed police
The overworked A+E dept at Royal Infirmary.
but nothing to the parking at ERI
Six pound fifty?/? and the machine wouldn't take my card!!!!

I'm starting to touch reality now.
To be honest the emotions have to be supressed at these times. a mother acting like a Bugblatter Beast of Traal doesn't help the child much as it may vent her anger

Waiting in A+E is a surreal experienced .
Jarry couldn't do better
We had the obligatory jakey shouting at the payphone (but not using it??!). drunk guy in suit attacking vending machine, bleeders dripping, drunks dozing,tv showing Catherine Zeta Jones film but volume so low that the dialogue cant be heard, and one mother and son sharing a mp3 player, so bored ,bored .
mp3 is mothers, son listens.
a bond is formed :D
music plays on
Greenday kwl ma
Good Charlotte yeh
System of a down , yeh
Placebo, emo, oo
Lacuna coil hmmm
Sigur Ros??
Boston, eh?, I have something in common with that one son

eye of the tiger, mum why??

Luckily they called him into X ray not long after.

We got home about 3.30 am
There was a bird singing in the car park at ERI
Wanted to shoot it and the stupid pay booth.

Thanks for the support and the Pms

Thanks to everybody for letting me rant.Much calmer now ( should this be in the fainthearted thread?)

He went back to school today and seems to have much kudos amongst his peer group.

I'd nearly gone to the CC meeting but hubby and eldest son were out at karate and eldest daughter didn't come in til 5 mins before the stooshie and Baby Dragon was not feeling too great so hadn't wanted to leave her
Just as well Mr Soupy and Clanger 2 didn't know til later what happened. The normally laid back Clanger was all for rounding up a posse!!

Hate to say it but there's been another one.
Foot of Marlborough St about 7.30 pm.
Not Clanger 4 but one of his pals.
Similar story, was heading to a pals house, lad on bike jumped him.

He was dazed and very, very shaken.
Went into pals house, pal was out but the parents looked after him, then he came round the corner to us

So having learned from last time ( 4 hr wait at A&E), we had him assesed by a first aider, gave him ice and ibuprofen, arnica for the bruise and took him in the car to his mum , who was at friends.
We phoned the police and got an incident number , after a wait, as they're very busy
Don't think much will happen as he doubts he could identify the attackers

Like when Clanger 4 was jumped, nothing was taken
he had a bag with him and his money was ok.
His mobile was already broken , hence not getting hold of his mum straight away

Also meant to say when taking stricken pal to car we had a group of neds hanging around at the enrance to our stair. i asked them why, got a wee bit lip, then I said I'm not arguing I'm taking this lad to get attention and the police have been informed .
On cue his nose started to bleed.

So I got on the mob, to ask for hubby to nip down with some tissues , but they didn't know that and started to wander off

Eldest son has chummed youngest son's pals home

Just drove back into Porty not that long ago and the night bus was being held at the Town Hall while the Police intervened - not sure what was going on.

What was on in the Town Hall tonight? Lots of kilted folk about.

Do you think you'll be able to make it along to the next CC meeting Soupdragon?

Jamesie, when I passed the Town Hall late Sat pm there were lots of folk arriving, clutching presents and cameras and dressed in what looked like wedding finery.

didn't witness anything relating to the assault on Saturday night, sorry :( but as we were coming back from walking the dog at about 9.15 and about to turn onto the path from the kwik fit end of the high street onto kings road we saw a HUGE crowd of teenagers (I'm talking 60-100) walking towards us. didn't get any trouble from them but they were very intimidating. looked like they were heading towards the main part of the high street and they were looking for trouble. anyone else see this?

What I meant was they looked like they were looking for trouble- generally being quite loud, shouting amongst themselves, swearing, shoving each other, etc. Wasn't very pleasant to walk past!

Thanks for the welcome :) I registered last year but haven't posted til now.

General teenage behaviour :D . Although I agree a crowd as big as that can seem very intimidating. (Good for you finally getting around to posting -keep it up we need new blood!)
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

I know there were several patrol cars spotted about 10pm

There must be something about the area attracting them at the moment.
The clean fresh air aat the seaside perhaps.
