I know. That is a legendary shop and I really miss it.

As it was I didn't have anything - just went straight to bed and had a couple of very odd dreams - one in which Oscar had a couple of wee stray cats as pals, and another in which we had a miniature postman who liked watching neo-Dadaist's toys through our living room window once he had delivered out mail.

there are some that suggest leaving out the clove, the lemon, the honey the hot water......
just keep drinking the whisky, eventually you won't care about the man flu and it may be effective in giving the virus the bad dreams

Don't know if this is flu or not but its horrid. Been totally fatigued forthe last few days and shaking like a drug addict. Felt a bit beet this aftie but now it seems to be back with a vengance. Went to doc he could find nothing wrong. Oh woe is me....

Doctors are rubbish, I had a variant of the flu/virus which is going about and I was coughing so much and it was so painful I went to doc who told me to avoid cough medicine as it was no good and to make sure I had plenty of hot drinks and the cough/cold would go away by itself

I find doctors are very unsympathetic when it comes to colds and flu type viruses. Yes, some people just have sniffles but others can be quite ill.
I remember the last time I saw a doctor for such a virus(it was fourteen years ago, I remember because Freddie was just a puppy and I thought I had post natal depression when I felt so grotty), anyway ended up in bed for days and Mr TG eventually called the doctor out as I could barely make it to the bathroom never mind the surgery.........only to be told "you've just got a cold,take plenty hot drinks etc."

Six weeks later I started to feel better.

So sympathy from me this time Porty, hope you're soon feeling better

As you will all know I don't like to make a fuss when I am ill, I just get on with it.

However , I have to say that this repiratory virus that is doing the rounds is a vicious little bug. I got it before xmas and I'm still suffering.

To be fair on the Doc he gave me a thorough examination and couldn't find irregularities that would indicate that there was something wrong. He was mildly suprised that I had a heart.

Anyway, I have to go back on monday for "bloods" so he is not muckimg about. Doctors aren't rubbish. In fact most of them are wonders. it took about 10 of them to keep PoP alive.

My sympathies to anybody thats got or had the respiratory virus doing the rounds.
Mine seemed to last weeks( though I may have had a secondary chest infedtion) whereas Mr Soupy and Clanger 1 suffered for about a week and the rest seem to have not caught it at all.
I HATE viruses

Because of their structure antibiotics are no use against them.
Wish I could whack them with a shovel.
Or jump up and down on them.
Or squish tham under my Doc Martens.
Or tie them to a chair to listen to Cilla Black or Vogon poetry til they were very, very sorry
Just hope thats what my immune system did.
Am I havering?

Serios question. I believe I have a respiratory virus. However, apart from an uncommon sbortness of breath, I have no other symptoms, no coughingm nuffink.
