The cygnets probably ate them!! It was great seeing a parent swan stamping in the shallow water to dredge up grub for the wee grey tots with their ickle black eyes and ickle black beaks!

Jeez there's a lot of dog poo about at the moment. It was like an assault course this morning, with one particularly messy poop spread over the pavement on the corner of towerbank school - a few hundred children and parents had to clear it whilst avoiding getting run over by cars whoosing round the block.

Time to change my bike tyres to slicks. :(

Gilo, in El Mollinar (just outside Palma, Majorca) during the summer months, dogs are not allowed on the beach, which I agree with. The dogs are all on leads and are allowed on the prom itself - which is spotlessly clean - no dog poo whatsoever!

Sandra I was on Aberdaron beach in North Wales in July. The beach there has a dog-free area but dog owners also have a large section they can use. I know there was some call for this for Portobello but the stumbling block was the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 which presumes in favour of access for all.
