It gets better actually - just for those of you who thought the internet was just for people on land and that RFPs globespanning was impressive - some time in the future our new reggae dj will be beaming us his set - from a ship in the Bay Of Bengal. Kid you not. Watch this space. And if you *really* don't believe me - ask wangi.

We're back!

Big schedule update at RFP! I've just finished putting up our new sets and their tracklists and info - 7 djs, 8+ hours of quality music for your listening pleasure!

This schedule introduces Atop from Houston (who visited the old Dada Towers when he was last in the UK and has thus seen Epykat's superior interior skills, as well as meeting the very sadly missed Chester the cat)

Welcome, Atop!

Congratulations are also in order for AmericanaOK who has now submitted his 10th set of americana - I didn't even know they had made that much! (just kidding)

Thanks to all of you who took the time to submit sets - sorry about the delay inbetween last and this update.

This is one of, if not the best update I've ever done for RFP - the work that our djs have put in is immense - ali and atop have written you small essays on their sets, Jackie Priest has been flexing his artistic and surrealist muscle with a horse-themed set, and the mighty Rathbone has sent Dada Towers another impeccable selection not only of music but also spoken word (announcement on "Kincaid" soon) selection which I hope I've done justice to.

It's not all surrealism and experimental music - the backbone is still provided by regulars mop and bearcub who, once again, do not disappoint.

I've tidied up the main page at radiofreeporty.org so that the only dj graphics you see are the ones on the current schedule - links for each artist will take you to the list of tracks on the current schedule.

It's outstanding. I still don't get a couple of them.

808080808 is one of my favourite tracks ever from one of my favourite albums ever - I used to be such an 808 State fanboy when I was a young raver. I saw them at the G-Mex down Manchester way, quite a shindig that was.

Rathbone even recognized what the DJ forum password was - like I said, outstanding music appreciation skills.

And his sister has outstanding decoration appreciation skills. They are a skilled family.

Easily my favourite hit at the moment is the one we got from the Canary Islands - it makes the Clustrmap look very cool.

Not only would he be "boo boo", but she would have no problem differentiating between boo boo and boo boo. They would be almost imperceptably different if you know what I mean.

Balamory is "ba", a bottle is "ba-o" (with the o being almost silent), a bath is "bA" (the A being accentuated), and bad is "ba". Oh and a ball is "bAa"

Context is everything with baby talk.

I'd like to see the demo page back again. There could be a demo hour in the schedule where tracks from the demo page are randomly selected, one from each band/ group etc much like the way one random track from each DJ was played when we first became legal

Excellent idea - I will get on this.

The way the playlist and software are at the moment it's either completely random from everyone's songs, or in strict playlist order - so I don't have a way of doing exactly what you request - that is some random (the demos) and some not (everyone's sets).

What I will do is make an hour of demo stuff as a set and put that in the playlist - and also put the link to the demo page back on the front.

Is that ok?

That sounds good - I will send you the music from the bands who have recently offered us unlicenced tracks (that wintertime plea for legal music is still paying off!), and they can get their own wee picture up for future fame

Great stuff - and congratulations on your 100th post!!!!!!

The guy who attended a supermarket demo and unwittingly became the DJ photo for "demos" on the RFP front page was at the PTV launch party and thanked me for his drinkies - I half thought about telling him about his picture or asking for permission etc, but I didn't. So demo dude if you're reading this - if our paths cross for the 3rd time I'll be sure and thank you / obtain permission.

Bursting onto the scene - DJ Gilo - a welcome addition to the forum and now to RFP's stable.

Gilo will be joining the next schedule update, scheduled for when I do it.

I'm sure that RFP's music will sound better with Gilo - who should not apologise for being the first person to play Kylie. She's part of our cultural fabric.

I'm pretty sure that Kylie has already graced RFP, in one of ecm's shows. But I might be wrong.
