Prepare to have your heart warmed :

"When the autistic team manager of a high school basketball team got his chance in the spotlight, he shattered everyone's expectations by scoring 20 points in four minutes."

A wonderful story. They can only spoil it now by making it into a Hollywood movie.

Costner is a genius. Note that his magnum opus, The Postman, is on Channel 5 on friday night. Unmissable.

Lovely story...my memory was telling me that "Field of Dreams" starred Robert Redford...did he do something similiar?

Can't wait to hear his musical output.

And let's not forget his performance in Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves. People say that Rickman stole that film, but Costner's characterisation was a masterclass in subtlety and understatement.

Also, it goes without saying that commissioning Bryan Adams for the theme tune demonstrates that despite his great fame and superiority to lesser mortals such as ourselves, he has not lost the common touch. The charts don't lie.

(edit: used the word genius too much)

Look, everyone is allowed a guilty pleasure. I have been very open and honest with the forum in terms of my admissions of budgie hatred and the fact that I am shamelessly sentimental about "Field Of Dreams". Please be gentle with me.
