It got a no vote in here as well. We are taking Graham with us so we want to steer away from kids.

How glad must Emma be that there is no d on the end of her surname?

It is off up town tonight for the Portobello Swimming Club Annual Dinner.

I am going with with 'Porty' and 'Pal of Porty's Pal' and would you believe that 'Pal of Porty's Pal's Pal' is actually the guest speaker!

Certainly not going to try and post that after a few drinks! 8)

OK, I know who Porty is, even Pal Of Porty and from other information I know who Pal of Porty's Pal's Pal is. Who is Pal of Porty's Pal?

Well Pal of Porty if you can't get it right sober there's not a lot of chance for you later on is there
Pal of Porty's Pal's Pal is not one of the speakers tonight - its Pal of Porty's Pal who is speaking cause Pal of Porty's Pal's Pal will be otherwise engaged

:occasion5: :occasion5:

Hope all you POP's have a great night

Pal of Porty's Pal's Pal: (in a Darth Vader style voice) Ed, I am your father!

I didn't know! What a shock. Has anyone else been fathered by a Porty or any of the pals who follow on from him?

therefore pal of (pal of (pal of porty)) is pal of porty

That must have been nice, all that celebrating.

Unfortunately, as the only member of the POL management structure NOT invited to the celebrations, I couldn't possibly comment.

I'm sure it would have been nice if everybody on POL and the whole of the Community Council could have gone and there was nothing stopping you from joining us later.

I agree, Sandra. It's been a very long week.

Trying to persuade D to start on the Xmas cards for his wee classmates which is a bit cheeky as I haven't made a start on my own cards yet. I haven't done much in the way of Xmas shopping yet either.

I will have to crack on this weekend and am dreading it.

I'm just back from night out at Sizzlers where we had a very enjoyable meal.
I'm finished my Christmas shopping so it's going to be a nice relaxing week-end, off to the antique fair tomorrow and will write my Christmas cards on Sunday so I'm feeling quite smug with myself. :D

I'm not doing cards this year as a matter or principal (it's my Aunty Helen's fault) so, if anybody was expecting one from us and has noticed that we haven't sent it - MERRY CHRISTMAS :D .

What did Aunty Helen do, or not do, to incur such humbuggery?

I'm psyching myself up to start card writing tonight and am looking for an excuse (anything will do) to get out of it.

Nice avatar, Sandra.

I've wrapped everything. It's the writing of cards that's my big problem.
We did nearly all our shopping today. It's all wrapped, labelled and bagged ready for delivery and I feel I should keep the momentum going now and get the cards done.

Yes I had a fab day at the antique fair Arachnid, bought a dog on wheels just like my avatar, thats four I have now and the "real dog" is getting on a bit so I might start looking for a set of wheels for him soon

Mrs smug isn't getting on so well with the Christmas card writing though, I forgot that I had a few letters to write and I haven't bought enough cards although I have leftovers from last year but some are not right for the people I need them for and I'm getting in a pickle

Well, after a (yet another) lengthy card writing session last year whereby I wrote my usual wee festive note to Aunty Helen and all the other people I haven't clapped eyes on since I was about 8, telling them how much I hoped they had had a good year etc, etc, etc - I got a card back from her saying 'from Helen'. Not even 'love Helen' or 'best wishes, Helen' - so this year I'm not doing cards - and it's been great. Thing is, chances are that nobody will even notice that ours is missing in among the dozens of other dust collectors hanging about their living room. I've saved fortunes on cards and stamps and there's been no hanging about at the Post Office or phoning round the rest of the family for addresses and postcodes that I keep meaning to write down. I think we should all not do it
