It certainly was 'The Temple' Arachnid. Was it your Mum and Dad that got you started on your crisp habit then ?
I believe it was called the Temple as it used to be a house owned by a wealthy businessman and the building (now a residence) that sits in the grounds was his private church or place of worship. It is a lovely little building and when our kids were young they used to attend play group there.

It'll always be The Temple to me! Sure my Dad thought I'd gone all holy when I got to about 17

Eddie "The Truth" Wilson, who used to own The Temple, once informed me that the building got its name from early owners. Their surname was Temple. I am quite sure he was correct.

Shame you're going to miss the gig but we'll make up for it on Friday.

Think we're giving the Sinatra's gig a miss tonight. It's an awfy thought going out mid-week.

I shall try to stay awake for tonight's E4 episode of Lost instead.

I have a question:

If a person was to arrive at The Diarrhoea at, ooh, say 9pm on Friday night, ie 2 hours after you have commenced drinking, having never met any of you people before, what state would that person find you in?

a. Welcoming and friendly, having consumed only a few small sweet sherries between you all.
b. Suspicious and surly, having ingested a full bottle of Sanatogen Tonic Wine. Each.
c. Slumped back in your chairs, oblivious to the still-lit cigarette ends idly charring your fingers.
d. Dancing in a whirling frenzy around your handbags, howling maniacally at the moon.
e. All of the above.

Just wondering. I ain't no scaredy-cat. Honest.

JP.

Yeah but if you approach the table and say "I'm just going up to the bar, does anybody want anything" you'll have several new best friends.

It could go many ways, couldn't it?

I, for one, shall remain sober just long enough to hear your hilarious holiday anecdotes. There has to be some - you went to France after all and I seem to remember a caravan was mentioned too.

Hope you had a nice time, btw.

I think I would have 1 or 2 drinks if I were you. It will probably make me seem slightly less dull. Although I tried my best to insert some Likely Lads-type caravan fun (FUN being my middle name) into the proceedings, I was quite literally beaten down before I could start. There was an incident involving a wood pigeon and some pritt stick, but I'm not allowed to mention that. We did have a very nice time though, thank you for asking.

So I may see you tomorrow night (erk!). I will be recognisable by my beautifully soft skin.

It's Erika actually, but you can call me Erk if you like!

And you simply have to come so we can hear all about the unmentionable wood pigeon/pritt stick incident.

Yes, I can thoroughly recommend you try the Skin Brightening System - a bargain at a mere £54.40. It seems to have restored my skin's healthy glow while balancing my pigmentation and protecting against future discoloration. Did you know it also includes Daily Microfoliant®, Day Bright SPF15 and Night Bright, which I find really useful in those harsh Portobello winters.

I lied, by the way.
