My 80 year old Mum said today that she was disappointed to have missed the Floyd last night. She said she wasn't sure if she'd recognise them these days. This interested me to say the least.

"there were 3 of them, weren't there?"
"No, Mum, there are 4 of them"
"One of the them's Paul McCartney's brother?"
"No, Mum, that was a band called Scaffold and they had a song called "Lily the PINK"
"Oh"

She did see Paul McCartney but was disappointed that he didn't do any Beatles numbers.

Not for Marya and me  I've got nobody old enough to play with and she's got somebody too young to play with. And there we were all set to get the the Forresters to spladoosh Zargo and Nova  Instead we'll just have to sit alone in separate houses with separate bottles of wine (you do have a bottle of wine M?) and gossip cyberly........

Just got told there's no need to remain sober enough to drive as Homer and my bruv will see themselves home and get their own tea. Good of them to let me know so early in the evening
Now where's that bottle of wine? And where's Epykat gone? :(

Went to the golf at St Andrews yesterday afternoon. Didn't actually manage to spot any golfers from the Bollinger tent unfortunately. They should really try to make it easier like supply binoculars or summat :D

He didn't make it in to work because of his cold (personally think its the hangover) but he has been sipping lemsip and feeling sorry for himself.

Totally off topic, but did anyone get Harry Potter this morning? I did! :D

Mr E is off there today complete with shades and 'slacks' I just hope he hasn't taken the Tiger Woods type cap. Must be love since he was up at 6.30am like an excited wee boy going to the zoo

Are you keeping an eye out for him on the box, E?

Don't think Tiger will be caught now.

It's been a sporty day here at home what with the Tour de France and the golf. I'm feeling quite pooped with it all.

No I've been avoiding the telly (HATE sport) but Epykitten the Horrible has been looking out for him. He's got on a red checked shirt and probably a stupid hat that says Ping on the front just in case you see him. If you do....he probably got dressed in the dark

It's a bit of a challenge trying to pick out someone who's dressed stupidly at a big golf match, isn't it? There's just too many to choose from.

There are some stonking outfits on show.

I'm sure Mr. E. is a sartorial understatement compared to some. :D

Well, there's always a price to pay.

Ali and I enjoyed a great night out last night (see the Newhailes thread).

Today we shall be mostly assembling flat pack furniture armed only with our hangovers and a selection of screwdrivers.

I predict a riot!!

I've been stood up  Having had a good night out last Friday was up for another one tonight. However, it's not to be. My date's called off and my husband's gone out  Never mind - got the Dog and Cat Home Open Day to look forward to on Sunday

No to worry, Epykat. Does it not mean you have the place to yourself?
Crack open a bottle of wine and kick back.

Ali and I will check out the Mela tomorrow which should be great. Lots of Bangra sounds to check out.
I'm working Sunday. Bet the weather's great then.

Good grief, girl. Can't you just watch the tele and eat chocolate and drink wine?
Or sing along to some of your favourite songs .:0.: - really loudly.

Not that I do owt like that.

My street cred will go right out the window if I watch Midsomer Murders again  Desperately trying to cut out the chocolate and the wine after 6 weeks of indulgence. Don't want to undo my 10,000 steps a day regime wot I've been <almost> following for 3 weeks. There is an individual strawberry trifle in the fridge which is possibly due for demolition shortly. Vodka, no lemonade, chippy open - possibility. Or, I could just sit on here til somebody wants to talk to me :D

Tried the wine suggestion, however, the only available bottle (which doesn't necessitate me going out) is one that Epykitten the Horrible brought us back from Spain - I'm now making a cup of tea  If I was a man I'd just go along to the Dalriada on my own and sit at the bar,......... I would but Porty would just talk about me

I recently read an article about a girl who started going to bars, out for meals and the theatre on her own - she found it very liberating apparently. I think you have to be very brave to do that. I would feel really self conscious.

Bearcub is on work night out so I have sole use of the computer and wine rack. :D

Epykat I will be walking Bess shortly so if you want a bottle let me know and I can drop one along. We just got a laithwaites delivery last night :D

No you wouldn't - you'd cook the tea and do a spot of clearing up, just like wot I'm doing. And then you'd have a quiet lager or two in preparation for the big day out at Hampden tomorrow 8)

Mr M you are the man of my dreams (apart from the Hampden bit which just makes what you said first smack of brownie points gathering). Spooky really because I was just going to start a "Where's Mr Magnolia?" thread. You've obviously been too busy with the duster and pinny to post? :D
