Would you get a night out which featured - a ceilidh band, some Brazilian men with funny hats chanting whilst 'playing' a stick with some kind of dried aduki beans rattling about at the end of it and a bit string, bellydancers who could put my belly to shame doing things with bacofoil sabres, two singers, a flutist, 4 teenagers and another wee ceilidh ensemble - all for Ã‚Â£2

This brilliant evening of events was rounded off nicely when our 'spare' bottle of wine, unopened and still wrapped in the tissue paper, caught fire on the candle

Yet again, another brilliant night out in the Town Hall.

Wonder if the Spanish pupils being hosted by PHS will return home thinking that's how we spend our average Saturday nights in Scotland?

He was giving it his best shot wasn't he? Mind you I reckon he needed a wee bit more Spanish than "Si! Si!" and "Por favor"

I want to thank all the excellent musicians, singers and dancers who made the PCATS Victory Party such a fantastic and enjoyable evening. The Belle Stars, Emma and the Capoiero dancers, Moira and the belly dancers, Sonya and pal, Gordon the flautist along with Irish dancer, the youthful Clutching at Straws ceilidh band and lastly the Porty High Sixth form leavers. You all made it a great party to be at Ã¢â‚¬â€œ especially the audience participation in the dancing. (I hope IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ve not missed anyone out!). Also, I would like to thank Gica for organising the artists.

As a footnote to the evening, whilst clearing up and loading the considerable number of empty bottles for re-cycling, I bumped into Bruce and friend heading eastwards with fish suppers in hand but minus any fair young Spanish ladies. Could this be the curse of Epykat?

I thought you were one of the best at bellydancing, hawkeye...

It was a great night - my other half has been raving about what a great community we live in ever since. And my biggest Bellybaby impressed us no end with his shot at the capoeira

. He's been trying to "practise" ever since, kicking youngest bellybaby in the head frequently.

I had forgotten someone, typical Monday morning. My thanks to Eileen Penman who followed the second ceilidh band and gave us stirring renditions of protest songs.
