...Mr Magnolia. :-({|=

Very sorry to hear about your accident and subsequent surgery and I hope you make a swift recovery. We miss your posts. You'd better get good at one-handed typing.

Love and sympathy vibes.

He was cycling and someone pulled out in front of him. Two of his fingers - and their tendons - got rather mashed, and after not very good treatment at A&E at the RIE, as I understand it, he was sent to St John's for surgery on them on Tuesday.

I did check it was ok to post something about it.

Hope you're on the mend. The best exercise for broken fingers is to use them - whether that be a one fingered or two fingered gesture is up to you  Sure you could learn to type with your nose........if you practice hard enough :D

Many thanks for your various wishes.

Been a bit difficult sitting down lately, so not much time in front of the computer.

I should perhaps first note that I thought my blue-light and immediate A+E care was excellent - mrs m has high standards for her man and expected (probably rightly) better subsequent care. From my perspective, all I can say is that moving from The Royal to St Johns was as from darkness to light...

Anyway, enough! I'm still enjoying being alive and barely hurt, rather than the unpleasant alternatives on offer. Classic bike accident last Monday evening while mrs m was attempting to watch the last episode of ER - car travelling in the opposite direction decided to carry out a U-turn with out looking carefully enough and I piled into the passenger door and roof at 18.8mph, took out the side windows and the passenger door, bent my prized (well, aged) bike beyond repair, fell (crash-test-dummy-like) on the base of my spine. Removed tendons from a couple of fingers in the process but luckily plastic surgeons reckon to have repaired one, with a bit of joint fusion still required in the other.

So I’m here swallowing pills like I’m a young tripper but on balance, feeling pretty pleased with life generally!

Welcome back, Mr. M.

Sounds like things could easily have been much worse for you.
I hope you're not in too much discomfort and that you are being suitably pampered by your girls.

Keep taking those drugs!

Oooh! Nasty! Made me shudder. :(

But it seems from what you say, Mr M, that you are a man whose glass is always half full rather than half empty (though I don't suppose you'll be imbibing the evil alcohol while on the happy pills! 8) )

Cheers!
Poppy
