Panasonic breadmaker available free to good home! It has one of those seed./nut dispenser thingies - and recipe book. It makes great bread, but I am just not earthmother enough to make it regularly.

Baking your own bread
Froglette and I are recent converts to this. She bought a bread making machine a year ago and it was recently re-discovered, unused, during a recent bout of spring cleaning in the dark recesses of an under-sink cupboard. I ranted for a while about the folly of kitchen gadgetry, but then we decided to give it a go.
I had just finished reading Joanna Blythman's excellent book 'Shopped', which contains a section on how bread is mass-produced for supermarkets and their kid-on 'in store bakery' products. This, along with the enthusiasm of a friend who bakes his own bread, persuaded us to try it.
The result? Delicious! Dead easy to make a range of different breads, no mess, tastes MUCH better than shop bought, smells divine, makes fabulous toast, I can't recommend it enough.
We use a Breadman Ultimate and buy our ingredients from Real Foods, who stock everything you might need including organic flours and seeds.

scossie5, Bearcub and I got a breadmaker for a present recently, not made any homemade bread yet, but we were away for a few days recently had had a delicious assortment of homemade bread - soda, sourdough, mull cheddar, pinenut, mediteranean foccacia... the list goes on, so we are keen to try it out.
Catz,
We just had a lovely light soft white granary with the lentil soup I made for dinner. Want the recipe?
I love my breadmaker (same as Bob's
- see, we really are twins; I was just really really late being born
). Had to do without it for a couple of weeks as we threw the paddle away with a heel of a bread
but now I'm back in business.

All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

BB I would love the recipe. I miss my breadmaker bread. It rose when it was new, but now nothing... weve replaced and tried many breadmaking yeasts and my wife has even, in desperation, kneaded it by hand, but she cant get it to rise. she says it tastes fine, its just to heavy.
