I will be attempting to get to bed early (probably difficult due to the comings and goings of several teenagers) because I'm up at 5.30am to go to Newcastle for all my Christmas shopping! :D I will therefore be online and gloating big style on Monday! I will also be online quite a bit during the week because I'll be skint.

Hehe...I've already finished mine. Every present and even the cards, wrapping paper, and some new ornaments for the tree...
I'm never normally this organised.
have fun, Epykat, we can gloat together!

That is exactly what I say except that I say it about midnight on Xmas eve.

As a guy, have to admit any Christmas shopping starts and finishes (about an hour later) on Christmas Eve"

Although, Sandra, don't worry I DO think about what to get you for a bit longer than that

Well, I suppose we can only REALLY gloat once they're wrapped and cards written AND the foreign ones have been posted and we've done the box bit with Rathbone (obviously, that last one only applies to me and not the rest of Portobello!) :?

Seems a long time since I had to miss that (presumably) wild date with Annette Bening, Tilda Swinton and Julia Ormond...

anyone doing anything more exciting than pulling up old carpets and listening to small children gathered around a beautifully swollen belly shouting "come out baby, we're ready for you now" ?

Going to a Murder Mystery Night at the school tonight (I'm hoping you get to murder someone of your own choice - but maybe not) which is really masquerading as a 'drink as much wine as you can, make a plonker of yourself on the dancefloor and pole dance with a lamp post on the way home' night (well.....that's what happened last year anyway). And tomorrow night I'll be reflecting on the passing of the years.
Remember when it used to be 18ths and 21sts? Well now it's 50ths :? (at least it's not mine :D )

I'm off to the Dragon Way tonight(not sure if I'm looking forward to the food after reading previous postings about this eating abode)
It's a leaving do and almost the entire staff from Towerbank will be there so it could be pretty wild. I think we must have the whole restaurant to ourselves. Just as well :D :D :D :D

Does that mean it's going to take forever for our takeaway to come?
(He usually delivers it on his way to his car to deliver other people's!)

No plans for the weekend (for about the only weekend between now and the end of January!)...will head to jumble sale if I get time. Must remember to call in Dalriada and pay up.

Hope you got your takeaway okay, Bellybabe. As predicted it was pretty raucous in there, don't think we'll be allowed back. Food was okay though service could have been better. A good night was had by all.

We decided not to risk it and went with Prince Balti instead!
We've had toddlers' nights out there before - raucous isn't the word! (Those three year olds are terrible for drinking  ...)

I took our darlings to the zoo today and had a fab time. Saw all sorts of animals that are usually hiding on the more crowded, warm days. Even the lions were out and roaring! And a wallaby bounced past us which left us determined to bounce rather than walk round the rest of the zoo. And then I remembered I'm not three any more *ouch*. Did you know when marsupials are born they're the size of a jellybaby? (Did you want to?)

Doesn't that sound much nicer than the size of the human variety?

At least the bouncing around would keep you warm, BB.
How cold has it been the last couple of days?
I love this kind of weather, as long as you're well wrapped up and on the move, it's great.

Contemplating starting the Xmas shopping tomorrow   .

Hopefully, will have a lunch somewhere in town as compensation for all the stress the shopping will induce.

I'm sure I spotted the Curious Doggie book on offer for £3 when I was last in Fopp so might pick up a copy and then probably not read it as I'm prone to do these days with book purchases!
If it's selected as the December read that might prompt me to open it at least.

My husband has almost finished his shopping too. Just mine to buy on Christmas Eve - as he does every year- while I buy for his Dad, his Mum, his numerous nieces and nephews, our son, my siblings and my one nephew, my son's teacher etc..........Need I say any more?
Oh and he's got no cards at all to write. I won't bother explaining why as you've probably got the jist of things by now.

I was hoping to go somewhere like Callander to do some Christmas shopping tomorrow, much more enjoyable than traipsing around the chain stores and shopping centres but unfortunately hubby has just had a works night out and might not be up to it. :x :x :x

There will be no sympathy tomorrow morning.
