Children In Need - the annual cringe

Post by Dadaist » 19 Nov 2004, 21:19

Ok, it's for a good cause. But that does not excuse regional television that makes you want to emigrate.

"who are you from?"

"the British Cattle Movement Society"

... etc

At least there was Gail Porter-Hipgrave for Bob. Can't there be some sort of phone vote (proceeds to charity of course) to opt out of the regional bit?

It's like Hogmanay television without the alcohol.

Damn, I missed her. Better turn it on in case she's back on later. But yeah, it's lowest common denominator TV. If only these 'stars' would just offer to donate 5% of their annual salaries we wouldn't have to bother having it at all.

Hmm - sounds good but no brandy in the house. Would Jack Daniels do, I wonder.

We're just watching Michael Burke and Andrew Marr doing "Wild Boys" and they are making Jackie & Darius look like quality television.

Not been watching at all until the last few minutes but just how SINCERE ( ) does Darius look as he's reading out the pledges, reckon that look has been practiced all week!

Although it's for a good cause, yes I do cringe when I realise it's Children in Need Friday again.

He does. I think he has improved.

I was just watching Jackie B and Darius, the supposed Kiss for a tenner. I suspect if Tom Cruise wanted to kiss her she would turn her face to the bit where the make up would be disturbed least. Am I being unfair?

and she'd have to bend down a bit too as Tom is apparently a wee short arse.

I've seen about 5 minutes of it, but it included Gail AND Kylie so it wasn't all bad.
