Incident outside St Andrews?

Post by Jamesie » 18 Nov 2004, 01:47

Just on my way back from the Scotland game (groan) and noticed an ambulance and three police cars outside St Andrews restaurant - anyone know what's going on? This was at around 00:30.

More likely hanging about where Scotland supporters could be, lot of likely (self-inflicted) injuries there

You lot are way behind! :D It was actually ME who summoned the Police cars (no ambulance though Jamesie, your beer glasses were mistaken - it was a Police van).
About 11pm there was a loud bang and breaking glass and we thought the window of the BB had been put in by a member of POL (only joking about that bit!) so I phoned the Police. However (and give them their due they were there in 15 minutes) it turned out to be my neighbour's window and it looked like it had been smashed from the inside. To cut a very long story short (!) between 11.30 and 1.00 we had 4 police cars, 9 (yes NINE) police officers (with batons), a police van..... wait for it....... RIOT SHIELDS... and finally a Joiner to bash the door in. Hate to disappoint you but I don't have a clue what was going on  The police left about 1am so I'm presuming nobody was home! It's a mystery.

Sounds like a police escort for the Joiner, how valuable are those guys?

Well I'm glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it seemed to have sounded!
