A few years ago the bells at St John's started chiming the time every day at 9am,12pm and 6pm, as well as the ususal Sunday morning celebratory ringing.
During the week this is ok I think, most folks are up and about by 9am. However at the weekends it drives me bonkers!!. Absoluteley no chance of a nice long lie if you live in the vincinity.
Is anyone else effected by this? I suppose there's not a chance of having weekend repreives?
St Johns Church bells
Re: St Johns Church bells
Can't say it bothers me Rosa, but our bedroom is at the back of the house, unlike the majority on Brighton Place. We hear the trains instead
I know that at least one other person ( though maybe T is your OH?) on Brighton Place gets driven nuts by the bells.
The ringing of the Angelus only started during 2006 St John's Centenary year (see http://forum.talkporty.org/viewtopic.ph ... lus#p45525), so it isn't a long established tradition.
