From Councillor Ian Berry

Post by Bob Jefferson » 04 Aug 2006, 13:04

Ian Berry is the Councillor for our near-neighbours in the Duddingston ward. He has forwarded to me a couple of items of local interest. The first concerns requests from constituents regarding the timescale for the construction of the replacement Holy Rood High School. The project manager responsible for these works is a Mr Gordon Shirreff who can be contacted at Canongate Venture, Unit 4, 5 New Street, EH8 8BH or by telephone on 558 5235.

Mr Shirreff has responded to say that it is hoped that the planning application will be approved by early September. It is hoped to commence construction in April 2007 to be ready for occupation in October 2008. The old school would then be demolished and car parking and landscaping works completed by Summer 2009.

The other item of interest concerns the introduction of 20 mph speed limit zones in the Duddingston area, which I'm sure will be warmly welcomed by local residents.

Ian Berry can be contacted via email at ian.berry@edinburgh.gov.uk

What a joke, Cooncillor Berry, trying very hard to jump into nothingness, this excuse of a cooncillor can't even be bothered to keep a section of his own ward informed with what is going at Holyrood, never mind anywhere else.

Oops silly me, he's hoping to move in next years elections, clearly he must be covering a better bit of the Portobello School catchment area.

Hang your head in shame man, there again the good upstanding people of Bingham have never had anything to thank you for.

A word of warning, this man like to ride on the crest of others waves.
To be a good liar you need a good memory !
