It was still there today - no sign of it closing down as far as I can see! Or am I missing something?

Dunno. Was 'Mulberries' originally elsewhere on the High Street?

Dunno. It's been where it is for as long as I've been here and more (over 5 years).

Mulberries took out an advert thanking everyone for their support over the years and said that the business was changing.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

Sorry to hear that but I know that Mr Top Hat has been looking for larger premises for a while and that Bonoful was keen to expand, so looks like it has worked out well.

Thank God Spells and Smells isn't being taken over. I think it might be my favourite shop in Portobello. In fact, I'm wearing one of their t-shirts (it's got a wolf on it, brilliant eh?) right now.

Is that the midnight blue one with the full moon behind the howling wolf? I LOVE that tee shirt. I was hoping Mr E would buy it as a romantic gift for our recent anniversary - but he said that when he went for it the girl had just sold the last one. You lucky devil.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

That must have been disappointing for you but I'm sure there are other equally attractive t-shirts for sale. Something with a leaping dolphin perhaps?

I'd say the Mulberries has been there for at least 9 years.

Where did you see the advert PoP? I've looked at the last edition of 'The Reporter' but can't see anything there.

It was in a booklet that was posted through my door - 'Portobello Seaside' or something like that. Cannot remember the correct name but it is a regular bone fide publication.

I've just popped into "Mulberries":
Yes, sadly, Marie is closing - last day is 28 June;
She said that all stock up to 50% off;
She is going to continue with Mulberries Jewellery and Virgin Vie make-up parties.
More on the jewellery/make-up to come on POL
PS The only place she's put a notice about it is a St Phillip's magazine!

I could have told you all that ages ago. Time to stop lurking methinks.

That's where I read it - I must be a lot more religious than I think!
It was the fact that she is going to Party Plan for Virgin V that caught my eye.

I've got that one too, it's ace.
Have you got the Bison t-shirt? Such an impressive animal, I feel a real sense of humility when I put it on.

I always thought that showed how good some of the stock was, when it's been left there ever since Red Giant closed....

The old "In House Design" premises have a 'To Let' sign back in the window. Also a banner above the shop front saying '70% off all clothing".
