Big beach bunting
Does anyone have any bunting or similar that could be strung along the Prom? I've got some cheap plastic stuff that I picked up in a joke shop. If you're at a loose end next Saturday morning why not get out with your bunting and decorate the prom all nice for the busk. Really show off Porty.
What about balloons too? Stick some balloons out your windows?
Actually, what do you all think to a community bunting project? Maybe over the winter we could all make some bunting that would be available for community events, parties and birthdays. I'll happily do a few metres worth.

Great day - thanks to all involved. My music talent was stunted at an early age being locked away in the cupboard by the music teacher - I was that bad. As those in the EN photoshoot can probably attest to - crimes against a tambourine!
Some great "chalkings" by the kids too. Should install buckets of chalk along the Prom! Never thought we'd give all the chalk away, but in the end could have used double!

Community bunting
I'm quite keen to try and make enough bunting to string all the way along the prom. It could be kept in the town hall maybe and used by any Porty resident for local events, birthdays or beach parties. It'd be great for next years Beach Busk.
If enough people volunteer to do a few metres each it shouldn't be too hard.
We all work to the same sizes and use the same bias binding but make our triangles with any material we like. That way when it's strung up we can point up at our own bits or bits made by our friends. "That's my bit" kind of thing.
What d'you say? A nice winter project? Have a think. I'll start a new "Bunting" thread on here in a month or so.
Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement since the Busk. And big thanks to everyone who came down or contributed in any way to making it a great day.
I'm off to look at sewing machines.
