Bellfield Lane development

Post by Beannachd » 27 May 2013, 12:04

Hi, I wonder if anyone could give me some information about the work going on in Bellfield Lane? We moved to Marlborough St recently and were not told there were houses being built opposite us. I just wondered if anyone knows the extent of the development and how long it may take to complete.

Many thanks

Hi Beannachd, welcome to the forum...and to Marlborough Street!

This thread link below should tell you more about the development, in short it's just the one house as far as I know.

@talkporty 2nd house on site, 3rd house about to start, probably take 9 months. That will be more or less it for a year or two I'd guess

Thanks everyone. Squirrel Cottage has already been completed, but there is a new one that has just started. It's directly opposite us. When you say a third house, where will it be built in Bellfield Lane, and also in the reply it was mentioned 'that should be it for now'. What else is planned, and how can I get more information about the development as a whole?

Many thanks for the replies.

You can get access to planning applications and their status (approved, refused etc) on the Council's planning portal; see: http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/planningand ... mentonline - first link and then search by map probably most useful for you.

Thank you. I find the webpage a bit hard to negotiate, but thank you for the link. Also, how late can the building continue? It's 8pm, they are still working and the banging is quite loud. Seems a bit late, but maybe that's just the regulations!

Thanks again.
