How romantic.
How romantic.
Mrs Porty will confirm that I am not the most romantic when it comes to present buying. I usually end up giving practical things that are "needed".
I was listening to the radio earlier and I heard the girlfriend of a serving officer relate the story of what her "man" had done for her. Basically he bought a little gift for each part of her that he missed; lipstick for her lips, nail varnish for her fingers and toes, a book for her brain, toothpaste for her smile, sexy shoes and lingerie. All in all a collection of unremarkable items but put together in the right circumstances it seems a very romantic gesture. Wished I could think of stuff like that.

I'll bet the man in question probably nicked them from his lady friends from wherever he was posted.

Porty now that you've come across the idea, there's nothing to stop you copying it...we won't tell...honest
I'm sure Mrs Porty would be well impressed, unless she's on POL of course
Was the service man a Scotsman by any chance

Mr E obviously went to the same school of romantic flirtation as you then. I got a feather duster!
To be fair though, it does have a really long handle which is handy when you have high ceilings. Dread to think what other attachments I'll be getting for my birthday
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Well, aren't you the lucky one?!

Talking of romantic pressies Epykat, one of my christmas presents was almost as good as your feather duster
He does try, but never quite gets it right
To be fair I did need them
How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you are?

I got a really vile christmas present from my Aunt. I am sure it took a long time to make but .... how does a jewellry box made out of ... wait for it... polystyrene, decorated by sequins held on by pins topped with pink roses sound?
Mind you, my mum's present from same Aunt topped that - a cushion covered with a handmade sunflower "carpet", but the carpet was too small for the cushion.
Really too hard to describe but left my present at my mums (by mistake, on purpose...)

I'll bet "they" who ever "they" are never got a present quite like yours
Tell me Sandra was your Aunt with you both when you opened your presents
How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you are?
I tell you, some of the presents the POL babes got this Year beg belief. A feather duster, a polystyrene jewelery box and car mats!!!!. Im off to get Mrs Porty to show her things are not so bad here. Assuming I can persuade her to stop playing with the jay cloths I got her to compliment the Cillit Bang.

I gave them a "nice" pressie of a Boots gift voucher each!
Thankfully I didn't have to open it in front of my aunt
Will be one of these things - if they ever visit I will take out of the cupboard and place on display... must make sure though when I write to thank them I just mention the £10 M&S voucher!

My best friend has just been round, telling me that she got her worst present ever from her gran - moist toilet paper. She was totally stunned. As would my gran have been if she'd given me that!
My poor friend was very puzzled as to which particular thought her gran had put into it.
