Pseuds' Corner

Post by Maria » 21 Nov 2004, 14:47

Realising that some of our users are in a class of their own, perhaps we should consider adding another Forum, open, strictly by invitation only, to those users who have shown rigourous (or 'rigorous' according to "Chambers") intellectual leanings (I know that discounts the majority of us but we don't really give a toss, do we?).
It could be fun drawing up the criterion for membership. How about perfect grammar, spelling and punctuation in all posts as a start?
The test period for this could last maybe, a year, say? To ensure the right calibre of member, of course.
Perhaps some more users would like to add their suggestions as to what would warrant entry to such an exclusive Forum?

I think your use of an apostrophe in the title is unnecessary. Does this qualfiy me for membership?

I couldn't possibly comment  Though I'll defend the use of the apostrophe as the use of the plural* possessive.

*I did think there might be more than one invitation issued, but maybe that's being a bit pessimistic

Can I just ask that someone change the clock on the messageboard in accordance with the end of British Summer Time?

Maybe just pedants corner for me...

Yes, but it's Art apparently. It wouldn't be Art if you or I did it obviously, but that's because we're not conceptual artists.

Us women don't do it anyway. Alledgedly.

Hide in rubbish bags, that is.

I would never join a club that would have me as a member.
