As if we needed an excuse/reason to have an Indian for tea tonight.
In honour of Diwali, Sainsburys have some great deals on their Indian meals including free rice dishes with their individual dishes.
So, that's tea sorted.
Its also custom to light candles and lamps and wear some new clothes so I might get round to trying on my PoL T shirt finally.
peace, love etc.

Happy Diwali to you too ECM.

nice to have met you on Thursday!
Sounds like a good idea, it'll be an Indian Takeaway tonight I think instead of the usual from "108" Though on second thoughts

maybe they will be closed for the holiday! - any idea

How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you are?

Nice to have met you too, Lizzie - hope all is well with your clan.
I don't think the Holiday will mean closures of any of the Indian places but couldn't swear to it.

We're off to a Diwali party tonight. Going by past years we are in for a wonderful feast (our host has been cooking all day) plus a few fireworks left over from last week. Hope this isn't illegal?!

I think I'm right in saying as long as you set off your fireworks before 11pm - you're alright.
Hope you enjoy the party

Good news [except for those humans and animals who don't like fireworks

] at Hogmanay, Chinese New Year and Diwali you can set of fireworks until 1 a.m.
[It's 11 pm for the rest of the year and midnight on Bonfire night. ]

There's a nice wee display at the moment. It looks like it's over in Brighton Park.

Hope you had a nice time, dc.
I was quite envious of all that lovely food you were off to enjoy. My Sainsbury bargain stuff made me feel quite unwell! I'm still feeling a bit dodgy now.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon. The food was delicious last night - all family recipes. I'll have to try and persuade them to give me their secrets.

Coul;dn't do anything this year as I was busy this weekend, but last year it was wonderful. We were at a posh hotel in Tobago
without children, and it's a big festival there. The whole hotel was lit by deyas, even the pool, and it was absolutely beautiful.
Pics aren't too good but give an idea.

All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!
