Awh! Thanks for the news, Alex. I suppose it has been in for almost a year. Our 1st anniversary is next Monday, the 13th. Perhaps our replacement will come forward and identify themselves!

We were there today. Had a great time. Took my camera but not many pictures as it was so busy and I was side-tracked by the activity. Also, not mastered the sharing of photos yet. When I've got more time I'll go through Wangi's instructions.

I'll be there (it's next to my house so feel like I should pop in).

If anyone goes down, they normally have a stall selling these wrap things, coconut and bits wrapped in leaves. You put it in the corner of your mouth and chew it (for hours). If you see it this year I recommend you try it.

Ali and I have some too but I can't post just yet as I keep getting kicked out of the Photobucket site for some reason.
I'll try again later.

We had a lunch out and couldn't really face the food stalls.
We spent most of our time there sitting on the grass near Pilrig House checking out some guys calling themselves PHD, which stood for Punjabi Hot Doolies (sp???) who were so good we came home with a CD of their and some of their cronies stuff.

Here we go

These guys were a Congolese Gospel group who had a lovely gentle sound for a warm afternoon. They did a sweet version of "Rivers of Babylon" .

PHD with DJ Tarv from Northern Lights (see above)

after which I had to have a lie down on the grass - I was quite overcome!!!!!

Rather a lot of my childhood outdoors time was spent in that park, cos I grew up on Buchanan St. Pity Beach Babe today as she was dragged not only past innumerable curry vans with Dada in charge of the buggy (must look forward, musn't look sideways at the curry) but also a very long walk down memory lane - great as the narrator, a bit boring as the audience!!!!

I lived on Dalmeny Street at one time.
Ali and I walked along there after the Mela. I was amazed to see my name still on the old fashioned pull-bell beside the stair door as it was over twenty years ago that I stayed there.

I thought about ringing it and asking if I was in.

Now I'm really confused ecm, I've been looking for someone that looks like your avatar to spladoosh, now you've gone and posted a picture of you looking completely different. I usually look at the people walking by,now I will be looking at all the benches in case you are having a wee lie down

Yes, I lived just along from Buchanan street so I remember Dizzys. Don't remember Mathers though.
I used to drink in the Dalmeny on the corner and Tommy Youngers over on Leith Walk.
Classy, huh?

I have been known to have a wee lie down on the benches in the Daisy park while Dan scooters round and round and round.

If you come along on the 23d you can see if I'm really like Tubbs or not.
