Power cuts

Hi , strange thing happened last night . We were sitting watching tv about 9.45. Total power cut , checked and it was our stair only . In the past it's been our side of the street or whole area. Called Scottish Power. They did fix it quite fast, under two hours . The guy who had sorted it rang the bell to tell us that someone had removed the fuse at the main switch at the bottom of the stair ?? Stranger still it had happened in the flats across the road only last week. What use can a fuse be ? Anyone heard of anything like this ?

That's weird magbagpuss. I thought the main fuse was in a locked box. I know they can blow, if folk put in a new electric shower, for example, and it is an old fuse, but as to why someone would steal one, beats me!

Probably petty vandalism, they've discovered it can cause disruption and get a thrill from that.
Unless its someone working for Consort and thought they were at The Infirmary
