Photoshop Student Edition
Photoshop Student Edition
I am considering getting this for my daughter, I understand that some versions for Windows are for 2 computer use. Does anyone have advice on buying this product/what sort of system is required to run it? Or is anyone considering buying it and would it be possible to share the cost if it is possible to run it on two separate machines? I have no knowledge of any of it other than it would be very useful for her to have it and that it is expensive to buy
I'd imagine the 2 computer use will be framed in the EULA (end user licence) such that it's two computers owned/used by the one person and not used at the same time. But I might be wrong there - different software has different licence terms.
What's the use going to be; and what free alternatives have you considered already?

Hi Wangi
I think she has looked at the free download options. She needs to be able work on projects started at school. Could be that we have to bite the bullet and invest in it anyway, it will definetely be useful for futher education purposes. I was just hoping that someone would say that they knew someone who knew someone who could get it for £10.99!!

Re: Photoshop Student Edition
There's a verision of Gimp called Gimpshop (http://www.gimpshop.com/) which has been modified to look more like photoshop, which helps with workflow. I've installed Gimp a few times but never really manged to get into it, I'm too familiar with Photoshop and Fireworks.
Photoshop is the industry standard so it's worth getting to know the real thing well if your daugter wants a career in a design direction. There is photoshop elements which is much cheaper but it is missing some of the good stuff.
As far as I know, the Adobe's EULA allow activation on upto two machines (certainly used to be the case).
Hope that helps.
