POD EVENTS

Please see below for details of POD events coming up this weekend. The Beach Bash will include PCATS fundraising activities.


POD Summer Cabaret

Portobello Town Hall

Saturday 21 August

8pm-12pm (doors open 7.30)

Tickets £7 /£4 concession

Available on the night or from Kitcheners Deli, Portobello High St

Come and Party in Porty!

A sumptuous feast of music, song, comedy, and dance featuring:

The fantastic Diwan Band (groove the night away to this irresistible 7 piece Senegalese band ), Waa Sylla, (vibrant and wild African drumming and dancing), the unique and mesmerising Julie Dawid (singer and poet), Accordion Pete (seductive French and tango accordion), members of Rosie Blue (cool jazz, blues, and funky rhythms), rap poets, major local talent, artists from the world festival circuit and much more. Be there!!



The Portobello Beach Bash

Sunday 22 August from 2pm

On the Promenade at the Cake Stand.

(next to playpark and opposite the fountain)

Live music, Afro ceilidh dancing, buskers, street performers, featuring Ronak Baja Indian Street band, the pied piper of Portobello Dick Lee and Dave Vernon, unique collaboration of African Drummers Waa Sylla and the gorgeous Belle Star dance band, (afro ceilidh dancing on the beach!), Portobello’s own fabulous belly dancers, fiddlers, street performers, and many more surprises! (look out for kite flying, games on the beach, break dancing kids etc)

Also includes a sandcastle building competition and face painting to raise money for PCATS.

Be there! Bring your own donkey!

We didn't get the POD paper either, although i saw one in the doctor's and there was one lying on the ground in the rain ourside our house...
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

This is just to remind you about the POD events this weekend:

Summer Cabaret at the Town Hall tomorrow, 12 August and

the Beach Bash on the prom from 2 pm on Sunday 22 August.
