Beginning Local History in the Library
A talk by Heather Morrison on Thursday 6th November 2.00 - 2.40 p.m. and 7.00 - 7.40 p.m. FREE - 20 tickets available at the library from 2 weeks before this event.
When she started working in Portobello in 2002, Heather discovered Local History comes alive in our objects, books, maps and press collections, and she would like to share them with you. Portobello Library.

Walk Leader John Stewart, Chair of Portobello Amenity Society John was born in Portobello and has written several articles on the town’s architecture as well as the Portobello Heritage Trail Guide which is on sale in local shops.
As a member of Portobello Community Council he monitors planning applications and assists the planning department. Hear about the buildings in the area and thepeople who lived and worked there.
Distance: approx 2 miles – People are welcome to join for part of the route. Time: approx 1½ hours. Thursday 6th November. Walk begins 1pm at Brighton Park.
