Coming up for 50!!

Post by Porty » 15 Sep 2008, 02:49

Not sure how to feel about it?

Many of my pals are there already and from an objective point of view it doesn't appear to have made any difference. Today I read an interesting quote from Harold Wilson - directed at Tony Benn. Can't recall it exactly but it was something like " he immatures as he gets older" or "as he get older he immatures"

How did you, how will you celebrate your 50th or for that matter 40th or 60th?

I throw a party for my 40th and, in contrast to several friends, didn't feel bothered at all about reaching that particular milestone. However, the prospect of turning 50 depresses me a great deal :(

Thankfully I have 25 years before any need to plan or do anything for my 50th!

Because to be honest, I dont fancy being old, being 50 is rather close to being old. I mean who wants to be old? Wrinkly skin? More health problems, pension collecting, etc etc

Preferable to being dead I would have thought! My friend died when she was 30.

I don't like to use the F word. I will be L in January and I'm off to Venice for a few days to get over it.

Yes, I'm quite grateful to have reached the age of 50 (and a wee bit) some never get the chance. I think it's pointless worrying about birthdays and being another year older, you are only one day older than you were the day before after all :?

So if it was that simple and you are prepared to trade 60 for about £30 a week could I buy back 20 for £90 a week?
