Do you have Sky Sports?

Post by Bob Jefferson » 03 Mar 2008, 18:08

I've just discovered that my team, Carlisle United are on telly. Their crucial game away to (we hate) Nottingham Forest is live on Sky Sports 1 tonight.

CUFC on the telly is a pretty rare occurrence so I'm naturally keen to get a copy if possible. Does anyone out there have the necessary account and technology to record onto video or better still DVD? Please PM me or post here.

Bob, Plug says he'll try to record your game onto DVD, but hasn't done recording from cable before so can't guarantee to get it right!!! If it works we can deliver tomorrow early evening (if you're not about it can go through your letterbox?).

It will be nearer 6.30 before we get home to Portobello. I will try to let you know tonight if it did work (we can't access Talkporty at work).

Carlisle are one-nil ahead with 10 mins to go. Forest are piling on the pressure. Their forward line includes Junior Agogo, a Ghanian internationalist who featured in the African Cup recently.

Finished one-nil. Forest had 10 shots on target to our one. Westwood was heroic in goal apparently. Up to second in the table! :D

Bring on the DVD!

Yippee! Many thanks to Plug. I'm going to make a copy for my dad. He listens to every Carlisle game on the local radio station, I follow the live internet text commentary and we always chat about the game on the phone afterwards. Actually watching a game will be a novelty for both of us!

We still have to play Forest at home and table-toppers Swansea so I'm hoping to get down and take him along to a game soon.

Thanks, got it! Didn't you ring the bell? Mind you, I was through in the kitchen so may not have heard it. I had a little 'thank you' present for you but I may have to drink it myself now.

Sorry Pops. I was in the east wing doing something clever with leftover chicken and it's the butler's night off.

You are very welcome. The Blues are still in contention for automatic promotion to the Championship and I'm heading down to watch them play Yeovil next Saturday.

The last game I saw with my dad was a few years ago when they dropped out of the Football League. Dark days but after successive promotions we're almost back where we belong. Ten games to go, fingers crossed. Come on Carlisle!

Well we didn't quite make one of the automatic promotion places but we are still in with a shout. Just the minor task remaining of beating Leeds over two legs and then beating the winner of Southend v Doncaster at the play-off final at Wembley.

The first leg of the Leeds tie is live on Sky Sports 1 on Monday night. Anyone able to record it for me?

Yep, listening to it on 5 Live. Funny thing is that the BBC online live text is about a minute ahead, so I knew Carlisle were 1 up before I heard it on the commentary.

Just spoke to my dad who is listening to commentary on Radio Cumbria. I'm trying to persuade him that we should go to Wembley for the play-off final if we see off Leeds.

Second half, here we go...

Just as well you weren't tempted to come round to see the second half - you'd have missed the second goal!

Anyway, you can watch it over and over again tomorrow! :D

Leeds get one back after SIX minutes of extra time. How jolly unfair! See you at Brunton Park.
