Teenage girl is shot in face during drive-by gun attack

A TEENAGE girl was shot in the face with a pellet gun during a drive-by shooting in the Capital.
Arabella McDonald, 18, was walking with her boyfriend in Portobello when the shot was fired from a white Transit van.

The shopworker, who is on her gap year before going to university, was left shaken and police are now checking CCTV footage in an attempt to catch her attacker.

Lothian and Borders Police are looking for two men in connection with the attack.

A police spokesman said the van was driving west on Abercorn Terrace at the time and was later seen on Portobello High Street.

In another incident, a 20 -year-old man was punched and robbed after getting off the number 44 bus in Milton Road, next to Portobello Golf
Course.

The attack happened on Thursday, shortly before 6pm.

The victim had crossed the road to make his way to Magdalene Avenue when he was grabbed by the scruff of his neck.

The attacker demanded he hand over his wallet before punching him twice in the face.

He grabbed the wallet from a trouser pocket and fled down Hope Lane towards Portobello.

The robber is described as being in his late teens or early 20s, 6ft to 6ft 1in, with long bleached blonde hair and 'drawn in' dark eyes.

He was wearing a black or dark grey tartan scarf, which covered his mouth, a black jumper with Lacoste written on it, pale blue stonewashed jeans, and white trainers.

He also had a pierced left eyebrow with a bar through it, a small scar on his right eyebrow, and spoke with a local accent.
