Strictly Salsa!

Nick Child has asked me to pass on details of a new Cuban dance club:
MALECON MATINEE Launch, Sun 4th Nov, 3.30pm-6.30pm, Beach Lane Social Club, £4/£3 (incl free drink)

Shortly after POD's Salsa Celtica gig in the Town Hall, we launch Malecon Matinee. Inspired by afternoon social clubs in Cuba, it celebrates the beautiful traditional Cuban music and dance called Son. The name "Malecon" comes from the famous Havana sea front; and Salsa Celtica's song was about ours, El Portobello Malecon.

Instead of the Buena Vista Social Club, we've got the Beach Lane Social Club in the middle of Porty, just behind the Police Station on the High Street. Come at the start for Nick and Margaret's introduction, then enjoy the music and dancing in good company from then till 6.30pm. £4 entry at the door includes a free drink or two; £3 for concessions.

Tell your friends. Contact Nick on 07803097727. Because it's not regular, you had better get on the Malecon Matinee email list - send an email to: MaleconMatinee-subscribe@googlegroups.com

Update from Nick:
MALECON MATINEE Monthly-ish, Beach Lane Social Club, £5 (incl free drinks)

After it's very successful launch in November, Malecon Matinee misses December, and then continues irregularly each month. Here's the next three dates: Sat 19th Jan, 2.30pm-5.30pm; Sun 17th Feb, 3.30pm-6.30pm; Sat 15th Mar, 2.30pm-5.30pm.
