au revoir (holiday time)

Post by Black Mamba » 11 Sep 2007, 16:08

 Mr BM and I are leaving on Friday and heading to France for two weeks
I'm just letting you all know in case you wonder why I've gone all quiet.

We'll be stopping off at Daventry for a couple of nights first to see our daughter her partner and our grandson (he's 2 years old now). We're getting the fast ferry from Dover to Boulogne and will be travelling around Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley.

The Arachnids will be jetting of to Canada around the time we get home. (are they trying to avoid us? :? )

You lucky things, have a lovely time. Samur is lovely, if you are near there - lots to see and lovely places to eat.

Just googled Saumur. It looks lovely. We'll certainly go there if we're in that area.

BM if you do get to Samur - the Ackerman Laurent caves are well worth a visit, lots of tasting of their gorgeous Samur fizzy white wines and roses- even better than Champagne in my book and good cheap deals if you are buying. Had a memorable afternoon there on our honeymoon. Vouvray is lovely also and good caves with excellent prices. As you probably can tell I like my Loire wines.
