Postcard collection

Post by Bob Jefferson » 22 Jul 2007, 17:49

I have now completed the scanning of the first batch of Margeorie Mekie's Portobello postcard collection, although I have around 100 still to edit and add to the online gallery.

I doubt if I have scanned more than a third of the collection, so there is still a long way to go. The next batch includes postcards of the Marine Gardens, the Open Air Pool and the Power Station.

They're fantastic

It's been many years since the Power Station was demolished, BUT , I still look for it when I'm crossing the Bridges!
It was reminder of home

I have, very, vague , memories of living opposite the Open Air Pool
I can recall the pattern on the sofa my parents had, sitting on the bunker and seeing the tops of the buses, and seeing the diving board above a white wall acros the road
