In the wake of the Her Majesty The Queen scandal, which followed in the coat-tails of The Blue Peter Connie Huq Phone Con scandal, scandal-hit BBC was this morning at the centre of another scandal as stories themselves quit popular sub-nursery channel CBeebies.
"We've had enough of this abuse" said Goldilocks, flanked by the 3 bears and her media consultant.
"Nowhere in this story has there ever been a Little Cook, nor did we need his so-called 'rescue'".
Hansel & Gretel were similarly affronted. "We demand the right to be kidnapped in a dark forest on our own, and not have some jumped-up 10cm ginger 'chef' come and rescue us just as we were working out our own escape plan" they opined.
Whilst BBC chiefs sought to limit the scope of the revolt, other stories have been quitting the scandal-rocked network as recently as this morning.
"Who - and what - on earth is a bl**dy 'Song Catcher' anyway?" said The Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe. "She looks like she has escaped from some sort of residential unit. She shouldn't be put in charge of a canvas bag, let alone allowed to ensnare tales in it to be tortured by her cohorts - a pair of depraved dollys" spake Old Woman.
"Good grief, I mean, this is just plain wrong" said Cinderella. "Trying to sing my complex story and condense it into something a 2-year old will understand is problematic enough - but incorporating it into a programme where an old woman goes down sewers and sings about poo is the final straw."
BBC News 24 will be reporting objectively on this scandal throughout the day.
