I researched and published a book on Junior football in the East of Scotland last year, and I'm now working on an update which will hopefully see the light of day in 2-3 years time.
I want to trace more details relating to Portobello Thistle, who were a prominent club during the period from 1920 until they folded in 1934. I understand they played at Woods Park, and their ground was also used for a few regional Cup Finals. I understand the name at least lives on in a local Amateur/Youth club. A further club was founded under the name of Portobello Renton, who existed from 1936-1939, although I'm not sure if they also used Woods Park.
Can anyone help me with pictures of Woods Park, or even locations, plus any picture of the two teams or where I could find any? And maybe any other interesting stories about them? Thanks
