Sadly a couple of weeks ago I had to have my wonderful wee pal Freddie put to sleep.
Many thanks to friends who have given me comfort and those of you who have sent me PM's .
He has been mentioned on here so often that I think he deserves his own thread.

He was rather wonderful. I met him quite a few times trotting along the High Street or down on the Prom. He was such a cute looking dog.
Poor, TG, you and the family must be heartbroken right now.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear your news about " Freddy", like foxy I felt as if I knew him, just the way you mentioned him in the forum. Know you must be lost without him. It's just over a year since we lost our much loved dog " Noosa",and we still miss her so much! So my thoughts are very much with you.
Why be scared????

When I first moved to Portobello and was ill and tired, Freddie made me smile the first time I saw him doing his clockwork-dog style walk along the Prom. A lovely memory.

Bramble and I were first introduced to Freddie when he pounced on her in the playground and chewed her ears

. She, being a much more mature young lady who already knew how to dig holes in the sand to bury her stolen rolls, tolerated him attacking her ears for the next 12 years or so and occasionally put him in his place - but secretly she loved him. The end of an era

Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

I remember Freddie as a fluffy, curly haired puppy, then later sitting on the wall at TG s gate. He always seemed so regal sitting there, accepting praise from passers by who would stop to admire him

Thanks for all your kind words everyone, it does help.
Soupdragon, here is a picture of him sitting on his wall (that bit has now gone),he would sit there for hours and was often referred to as Greyfriars Bobby. This photo was actually taken by a passer by and they put it through my letter box.
As you can see I'm not very good at scanning and don't know how to get rid of the white bit, sorry.

TG, thats exactly what I remember, before that wall was done up
Baby Dragon has memories of reaching up and clapping Freddie when he was sitting there
