On yer bike!!
On yer bike!!
Well, I've just seen something I've not seen for decades...polis on pushbikes!! On the Prom!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: On yer bike!!
Interestingly enough the police rep on the CC said there is no legal impediment to cycling on the Prom. The signs are meaningless.......Poppy wrote:..polis on pushbikes!! On the Prom!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()

It would have made an interesting photo, though: the two coppers on their bikes beneath a No Cycling sign!!Marya wrote:Interestingly enough the police rep on the CC said there is no legal impediment to cycling on the Prom. It's a shame that there's no sign of the bikes having "blues and twos" attached as they'd be handy with the present heavy traffic!!
On the subject of cycling and the law, some of you may wish to sign ane-petition which calls for the government not to approve a revised highway code. The deadline for this petition is 18 June 2007.
The new highway code requries cyclsits to use cycle facilities 'wherever possible'. Failure to do so can result in the cyclist being prosecuted for 'inconsiderate cycling'.
I'm sure we can all think of cycle lanes around Edinburgh which are poor or even dangerous to use and while I know some cyclists think that travelling on two wheels gives them the right to behave as though they own the roads and pavements, the vast majority out there are considerate road users and should be treated as such.

I thought that too!Pal of Porty wrote:They looked a bit wobbly.
The scene at the sandbags yesterday was like that: children swarming all over the place, building forts etc. and not an electronic toy in sight! Looked like photos of London during the Blitz, but in a good way.PoP wrote:Hopefully all the kids will now start stealing apples and playing football on the street again!
